Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The National Tourism Organisation (NTO) announced that, according to the latest data from Monstat, Montenegro has recorded a significant increase in the number of tourists in the first six months of this year.

“During this period, over 940,000 tourists visited the country, six percent more compared to the same period last year, and as much as 24 percent more than in the record year of 2019,” the NTO stated in a press release. 

According to data from the Ministry of the Interior, 7.32 million individuals were registered at Montenegro’s border crossings between 1 January and 1 June of this year, five percent more than the 6.96 million registered during the same period last year.

“In June alone, 2.8 million individuals were registered at border crossings, six 6 percent more compared to 2.65 million recorded in June 2024,” the NTO added.

In terms of the tourist structure, the majority came from neighbouring countries, while a significant number of tourists also arrived from the United Kingdom, Germany, Israel, the United States, Turkey, and Russia.
