Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatovic, a successful future lies ahead for Berane, marked by development and better living conditions.

He expressed confidence that Berane would remain at the forefront of the reforms Montenegro must undertake. 

“I know that Berane has potential, fertile land and honest people who don’t ask for much, just a chance to live well from their work. With responsible governance and state support, I am confident that a prosperous future awaits you,” Milatovic stated in his congratulatory message on the occasion of Berane Municipality Day.

He reminded that Berane had always been the heart of Montenegro’s spirit of freedom.

“Your region has made a significant contribution to the struggle for freedom throughout all periods of Montenegrin history, and the name Berane remains woven into our collective memory as a symbol of resistance, honour, and tradition,” Milatovic said.

According to Milatovic, Berane is today one of the key municipalities in the north-eastern region – a crossroads of tradition and modern aspirations.

Its geographic location, along with the fertile Berane valley and the Lim River basin, makes it ideal for the development of agriculture, tourism, processing industries, and transit and logistics networks.

“In recent years, Berane is increasingly recognized as a healthcare, educational, and cultural hub for this part of Montenegro. A well-developed healthcare infrastructure and institutional capacities serve citizens from all northern municipalities. Secondary schools, a cultural centre, libraries, museums – all of this demonstrates the city’s potential to become a pillar of regional development,” Milatovic noted.
