Podgorica, Madrid, (MINA-BUSINESS) – It was concluded at a meeting in Madrid that Montenegro and Spain could exchange experiences in the fields of digitalization and tourism diversification.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Tourism, the possibility of establishing a direct Iberia Airways route between Podgorica and Madrid was discussed on this occasion.

Minister of Tourism Simonida Kordic met in Madrid with Spain’s Minister of Industry and Tourism Jordi Hereu Boher.

Boher expressed satisfaction with the visit of the Montenegrin delegation and Spain’s strong interest in advancing bilateral and multilateral cooperation, especially within the framework of UN Tourism, where Montenegro currently chairs the Commission for Europe.

“He also expressed readiness to exchange experiences in digitalization and tourism diversification, and proposed inviting Spanish investors as well as owners of Spanish hotel brands Melia, Iberostar, and Eurostar, which already successfully operate in Montenegro, to organize a thematic meeting in Montenegro to explore opportunities for new investments and expansion of activities,” the press release states.

Kordic highlighted the importance of concluding a bilateral agreement and concretizing cooperation in tourism, expressing Montenegro’s openness to new investments.
