Closer tourism cooperation discussed with Bulgaria and Greece

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – it was concluded during meetings between Tourism Minister Simonida Kordic and her Greek and Bulgarian counterparts, Olga Kefalogianni and Ilin Dimitrov, that Montenegro can further strengthen tourism cooperation with Greece and Bulgaria.

Kordic, who also serves as Chair of the UN Tourism Commission for Europe, is participating in the 126th meeting of the UN Tourism Executive Council and the first meeting of the Committee for the International Year of Sustainable and Resilient Tourism in Toledo, Spain, where she represents not only Montenegro but also the European region within the organization.

“Montenegro’s strong positioning in high-level international multilateral forums significantly contributes to opening new markets and increasing tourism engagement,” the press release said.

Kordic and Dimitrov agreed that there is considerable scope for cooperation in tourism education, particularly through the establishment of joint activities under the Erasmus programme.

Kordic also met with Kefalogianni, reaffirming the substantive cooperation between the two countries in tourism and agreeing on her official visit to Montenegro, during which a Memorandum of Cooperation in Tourism between Montenegro and Greece will be signed.
