Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Representatives of Montenegro’s Tax Administration and North Macedonia’s Public Revenue Office agreed that regional cooperation plays an irreplaceable role in the reform processes being implemented by the two institutions.

“The direct exchange of knowledge and experience between administrations facing similar challenges contributes to higher-quality solutions and faster delivery of results,” it was concluded at a meeting held in Podgorica as part of an official visit dedicated to the exchange of experiences and the strengthening of regional cooperation in the modernization of tax administrations.

Representatives of the two institutions said that cooperation should be continued and enhanced through concrete forms of professional exchange.

The Tax Administration (PU) said in a press release that they exchanged views on key topics in modern tax administration, including the digitalization of business processes, the improvement of electronic services for taxpayers, and tax risk management. 

“Particular attention was devoted to experiences in the field of e-fiscalization, which is already delivering measurable results across the region in terms of the transparency and efficiency of tax systems,” the press release said.

Representatives of the Tax Administration also shared their experience with the introduction of the Integrated Revenue Management System (IRMS), which has been in operation since the beginning of the year.
