Negotiations on new General Collective Agreement to continue

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – It was concluded at a meeting of the Social Council that social dialogue and negotiations aimed at reaching the best possible compromise on the signing of a new General Collective Agreement (GCA) should continue.

The 12th regular meeting of the Social Council was held today, with one of the key topics being the status of social dialogue in the absence of a signed General Collective Agreement.

“Following a constructive discussion, the social partners jointly concluded that, despite the fact that the General Collective Agreement has not yet been signed, it is necessary to continue social dialogue and negotiations in order to reach the best possible compromise,” the Council said in a press release.

It was agreed that an extraordinary meeting of the Social Council would be convened between 18 and 22 June, with the Prime Minister or an authorized government representative attending, in an effort to find a solution regarding the General Collective Agreement and the coefficient calculation value.

“In the meantime, the Working Group on the General Collective Agreement will continue its work with the aim of furthering dialogue and preparing for the Council meeting,” the press release reads.

A meeting of the working group has been scheduled for 15 June.
