Economic integration into the EU Single Market

Economic integration into the EU Single Market

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to Pavle D. Radovanovic, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro (PKCG), Montenegro’s business community has demonstrated its readiness to embrace the rules of the European Union (EU) Single Market, improve business standards, and serve as a strong pillar of Montenegro’s European path.

Radovanovic and Igor Banovic, Chairman of the Transport Association Committee within PKCG, participated in a series of meetings in Brussels focused on integrating the economies of Montenegro and the wider region into the EU Single Market.

Radovanovic said that Montenegro has a realistic prospect of becoming an EU member by 2028, and that for this reason it is important to view the European integration process through the lens of the business sector as well.

The meetings in Brussels were an opportunity to confirm that the business community does not want to be merely a beneficiary of integration, but an active partner in accelerating the process,” Radovanovic said.

The Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Eurochambres) facilitated a meeting between the Montenegrin delegation and Maurits Jan Prinz, a representative of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Enlargement and the Eastern Neighbourhood (DG ENEST), to discuss the progress of the European integration process and the adaptation of regional economies to EU standards and practices.
