Podgorica, (MINA) – In the first half of this year the Special State Prosecutor’s Office (SPO) opened 14 cases in which more than EUR 62 million was seized, the SPO announced, adding that in that same period, restrictions were imposed on the disposal of real estate of ​​over 1.65 million square meters.

“In 14 cases, funds in the total amount of 62,662,291 Euros, 2,037,432 Russian rubles, 173,148 US dollars, 624 Swiss francs and 3,000 British pounds were seized from commercial banks in Montenegro”, the press release said.

The SPO said that in three cases it ordered commercial banks a temporary suspend payments in the total amount of EUR 2,283,331, while EUR 103,694 of cash was confiscated.

In line with the SPO’s order, in the first half of this year, 74 vehicles were confiscated, including 54 passenger cars, 11 tow trucks, three snowmobiles, two trailers, and one motorcycle, tractor and jet ski each.

“As well as 15 luxury wristwatches (Rolex, Cartier), several firearms, parts of weapons and ammunition”, the SPO stated in a press release.
