Three members elected to RTCG Council

Three members elected to RTCG Council

Podgorica, (MINA) - Janko Ljumovic, Marijana Camovic Velickovic and Nikola Tatar were elected on Wednesday, during the Parliament session, as members of the Council of Radio and Television of Montenegro (RTCG).

Dragoljub Vukovic and Niko Martinovic did not receive sufficient support from MPs to be appointed to the Council of the Agency for Audiovisual Media Services (AMU).

In a recent non-paper, the European Commission stressed that it is urgent for the Parliament to appoint new members to the AMU Council, in order to ensure its full functioning and independence.

Although 12 MPs voted in favor of Vukovic and Martinovic, and none voted against, 44 MPs abstained.

Vukovic was nominated by non-governmental organizations dealing with the media sector, while Martinovic was proposed by the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts.
