- Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG) has successfully fulfilled all obligations under Chapter 9 – Financial Services, thereby creating the conditions for its closure in negotiations with the European Union (EU).

“The reform package led by the CBCG includes key legislation in the fields of banking regulation, resolution, digital operational resilience, and supervision, fully aligned with the EU acquis,” the CBCG posted on its Instagram account.
According to the CBCG, this has further strengthened the regulatory framework, improved the stability of the financial system, and confirmed Montenegro’s readiness for integration into the European financial market.
“Closing Chapter 9 marks an important step forward on the European path and a strong confirmation of the institutional maturity of the financial system,” the CBCG added.
