Priorities: Efficient passenger flow and a decisive fight against cross-border crime

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Ministry of the Interior and the Police Administration are fully prepared for the summer tourist season, with clearly defined priorities and full operational readiness.

Minister of the Interior Danilo Saranovic and Director of the Police Administration Lazar Scepanovic held a meeting with Deputy Director for the Border Police Sector Dejan Bojic and the heads of the Central, South and North regional border police centres, Branislav Knezevic, Jozo Lukolic and Slavisa Grebovic.

The meeting focused on preparations for the summer tourist season, an assessment of available human and technical resources, and the definition of priorities aimed at ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of passengers while simultaneously taking decisive action against all forms of cross-border crime.

“In this context, special attention was devoted to the organization and operation of border crossings at Podgorica and Tivat airports, as well as the busiest road border crossings, where a significant increase in passenger and road traffic is expected during the summer months,” the Ministry said in a press release.

It was noted that the additional deployment of personnel, the appropriate allocation of resources and continuous coordination would create the conditions for the smooth flow of traffic and faster passenger processing, while at the same time enabling intensified activities aimed at detecting and preventing the smuggling of people, narcotics, weapons and other forms of cross-border crime.
