Diop: Full support for completing the airport tender process
- Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to representatives of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, the IFC is providing full support to the Government in completing the tender process for Montenegro’s airports, launched seven years ago, in the best interest of the state and its citizens.
Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to representatives of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, the IFC is providing full support to the Government in completing the tender process for Montenegro’s airports, launched seven years ago, in the best interest of the state and its citizens.
Prime Minister Milojko Spajic met in Dubai with IFC Managing Director Makhtar Diop to discuss the tender process that was relaunched by the 44th Government after years of stagnation. The process was transparent and conducted in line with international standards.
Spajić informed IFC’s leadership about the projects Montenegro is implementing and planning in the field of transport infrastructure, including the construction on the remaining sections of the Bar–Boljare motorway, the Budva bypass, and the modernization of the railway.
“Transport infrastructure and accessibility are prerequisites for overall economic development and regional connectivity, and Montenegro currently has a number of projects in this field,” Spajic said.
According to a press release from the Government, he also noted that a number of initiatives and projects are underway in the field of the green transition, aimed at strengthening energy efficiency, reducing negative environmental impacts, and accelerating the shift toward sustainable and innovative solutions.
IFC expressed its readiness to support Montenegro through financial instruments, technical assistance, and expertise, thereby strengthening the partnership and opening new opportunities for the implementation of development projects in line with international standards and best practices.
“The progress Montenegro is making is encouraging. Reforms are delivering results, and you can count on our support in the future,” Diop said.
The meeting focused on the possibility of cooperation on projects in different fields planned within the framework of the implementation of intergovernmental agreements.
