Key functionalities of the Tax Administration system operational and gradually introduced

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Despite difficulties observed by some users, the Integrated Revenue Management System (IRMS) is already actively being used in practice, confirming that the system’s key functionalities are operational and are gradually being introduced into regular use.

“From the launch of the system into production until Wednesday, 8,140 VAT returns and 3,720 IOPPD returns have been submitted via the portal, as well as the first financial statements and the first reports on calculated and paid personal income for employees,” representatives of the Tax Administration told the Mina-business agency in response to a question about when the new Tax Administration software will be fully functional.

Tax Administration representatives added that there is also an increase in the number of certificates issued through the portal.

“As at Wednesday, 107 certificates have already been issued electronically, while an additional 79 requests have been processed and are ready for delivery to users’ electronic mailboxes. Although these are initial figures, they are an encouraging indicator that electronic services are gradually being established and that users are recognizing and using the new system,” the tax authority said.

The Tax Administration explained that the introduction of IRMS is one of the most significant reforms in the operation of Montenegro’s Tax Administration in recent decades. It is a complex information system that, for the first time, integrates several previously separate systems and procedures into a single platform, with the goal of improving long-term efficiency and the quality of services for taxpayers and citizens.
