Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Relations between Montenegro and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) hold strong potential to grow into a partnership that will deliver concrete results, particularly in the fields of energy and sustainable development.

During his visit to the UAE, Minister of Energy and Mining Admir Sahmanovic met with the country’s Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Director General of ADNOC, and Chairman of Masdar, Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber.

Al Jaber stated that Montenegro was recognized in the UAE as a reliable partner and a country with exceptional natural potential.

According to a press release from the Ministry, he added that the time has come to transform this potential into joint projects that will contribute to economic and investment cooperation.

“The two officials agreed that Montenegro, thanks to its geopolitical position and strategic orientation toward sustainable development, is an ideal location for the implementation of major energy and infrastructure projects,” the press release stated.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of applying advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, in developing new systems in the energy sector, which offers additional potential for innovation and progress in the industry.

Particular emphasis was placed on the UAE’s readiness to invest knowledge, experience, and capital into the development of renewable energy sources and the strengthening of Montenegro’s energy system.

“It was concluded that such investments benefit not only the energy sector but also the economy as a whole, by creating jobs, boosting competitiveness, and strengthening the country’s sustainable future,” the press release reads.
