Montenegro to host conference of customs directors from EU member states and the region next year

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to the Customs Administration, Montenegro will host a conference of customs administration directors general from the Western Balkans and European Union (EU) member states for the first time next year.

 

“This is recognition of the active role Montenegro plays in regional initiatives and processes aimed at improving customs cooperation and advancing European integration,” the Customs Administration stated in a press release.

 

Representatives of the Customs Administration participated in a high-level conference of customs directors general from the Western Balkans and EU member states, held in Athens on 11 June and organized by the Independent Authority for Public Revenue of the Hellenic Republic, the CEFTA Secretariat, and the Transport Community.

 

“The conference brought together directors of customs administrations, representatives of the European Commission, the business community, and international organizations with the goal of further enhancing customs cooperation and integrating the region into the EU Single Market,” the press release reads.

 

During the conference, participants reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening regional cooperation, modernizing customs procedures, and supporting businesses through simplified procedures and the development of partnerships with trusted economic operators.
