Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to the Ministry of Finance, by adopting the Law on the Management of State-Owned Enterprises, Parliament has supported one of the most significant reforms in the management of state assets in recent decades.
“This law marks a decisive departure from practices that have long been characterized by fragmented management, unclear responsibilities, and insufficient focus on results. For the first time, the state is establishing a unified, modern, and accountable system for managing its enterprises, based on professionalism, transparency, and the protection of the public interest,” the Ministry said in a press release.
As the Ministry stated, state capital is the capital of the citizens. Therefore, it must be managed responsibly, professionally, and in accordance with the highest standards of corporate governance.
“The new law introduces clear rules and precisely defines the responsibilities of all participants in the system, while strengthening the coordinating role of the Ministry of Finance in implementing the state’s ownership policy,” the Ministry stated.
According to the press release, business results will no longer be a matter of subjective assessment but a clearly measurable obligation through defined objectives and regular monitoring of their achievement
