Podgorica, (MINA) – Prime Minister Milojko Spajic did not answer MPs’ questions during a special Parliament’s session, opting instead to submit written responses to the deputies.
He said that the Parliament should adopt 32 laws by the end of the month.
“I just wanted to create as much space as possible for the adoption of European-reforms related laws, so we can move forward as quickly as possible”, said Spajic, adding that he did not want to offend the MPs by withholding verbal responses.
He stated that he had the best intentions and that he wanted to give the opposition as much space as possible to speak, especially after the historic reform they implemented.
Social Democrats (SD) MP Boris Mugosa said that, under the Rules of Procedure, it is not up to MPs to decide the form of the Prime Minister’s response, but added that Spajic is obligated to respond directly.
Leader of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Danijel Zivkovic said that Spajic is revealing his true face to the Montenegrin public.
He said that Spajic effectively rejected the opposition’s constructive role.
“You have humiliated those who elected you. As of today, you will face serious obstacles in the further functioning of the parliament”, said Zivkovic.
